 Gregory Gipson is a Chiropractor and head
of Complementary Department of Shanghai
East International Medical Center.
Chiropractic is the world's third largest health
care system. The Chiropractor looks for
partially misaligned and dysfunctional
vertebrae (subluxations)and other joints
off-center that may be impinging upon normal
neurological functioning. Through chiropractic
manipulation, these maladjustments are
removed so that the flow of neuro-hormonal
secretions is restored and the body recovers
from pain and the diseases causing that pain.
Chiropractic lays stress on the concept of 'susceptible host' - an individual's predisposition to disease. Heredity, environmental pathogens (bacteria and other disease-causing substances), nutritional habits, misaligned vertebrae, physical and mental stress factors, and learned responses to stress -all contribute to disease. Chiropractors look for muscular and skeletal trauma from falls and accidents, strains and sprains. They note postural and occupational distortion that may induce abnormal joint function or muscle tonus (partial contraction).
Dr. Gipson is from the U.S. and graduated with a degree in Economics and Business from Cornell College in 1970. After graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corps in various capacities for 3 years. Following some 40 years of successful treatment as a chiropractic patient, he chose to enter chiropractic school and graduated from Palmer College in San Jose, California in 1999.
He has experience as a chiropractor in trauma clinics in the U. S. ; Florida , Texas and California . He recently established the East Shanghai International Spinal and Neuromuscular Clinic.
Dr. Gipson is in China because of the three special loves of his life; his wife ??ìCTina, Qiu Hua and son, Loren and to expand chiropractic services in Shanghai. His chiropractic specialties are geriatrics, pediatrics, trauma, and sports injuries. He is U.S. National Board certified in physiotherapy and additionally, a California certified massage therapist. |
